We believe the Church is not for the perfect, ...but those who are being perfected!  A redemptive community is our heart beat and REAL is our identity.

We're a Young congregation and have the greatest Pastors any church could ask for. Our Lead Pastor(s)  Wiley and Wendy Hughes Lead us with Contagious Passion and Integrity raising up Disciples of Jesus Christ who show the Love of God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

 

In the Bible, in the book of 1 Corinthians, chapter 9, verses 19-23, the writer gives a wonderful explanation of what being a Christian is all about. His words epitomize the purpose of Destiny Now. Here is what he wrote;

 

“I am not anyone’s slave. But I have become a slave to everyone, so that I can win as many people as possible. When I am with the Jews, I live like a Jew to win Jews. They are ruled by the Law of Moses, and I am not. But I live by the Law to win them. And when I am with people who are not ruled by the Law, I forget about the Law to win them. Of course, I never really forget about the law of God. In fact, I am ruled by the law of Christ. When I am with people whose faith is weak, I live as they do to win them. I do everything I can to win everyone I possibly can. I do all this for the good news, because I want to share in its blessings.” (CSV)

 

The “good news,” as the writer calls it, is what Destiny Now is all about. We try really hard to tell as many people as we can that the best thing they can ever do for themselves, their family, and their friends is to get to know God by inviting Jesus Christ in to their life. We promote the “good news” that God is love and that He offers His endless love and forgiveness to anyone who will receive it.

 

It is our aim to do whatever we can to connect with everyone we can so that through a genuine relationship we may ultimately introduce them to Jesus Christ.

 

We truly believe that through a relationship with Jesus Christ a person will find love, forgiveness, intimacy, purpose, and happiness and we want everyone to know it!

 

Our official beliefs as a family of faith are neither rigid nor exclusive. We believe…

 

  1. The Bible is God’s Word, written by people who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to do so…given to humanity for the purpose of introducing Himself and to explain what He expects of us as His creation.

  2. Jesus Christ is God’s unique Son, offered to the world as a substitution for the penalty required for our sins.

  3. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a virgin when she conceived and gave birth to Jesus.

  4. Jesus Christ never sinned but died on a cross for the sins of everyone. He was buried the night he died but, as was predicted by the Bible, came alive again three days later and then went back to heaven forty days after that.

  5. While Jesus was still on earth, following his resurrection, He spent time with many of His followers, giving them instructions for the future, and assuring them that Heaven is real.

  6. When a person admits that they have sinned and then willingly accepts and believes that Jesus Christ died on a cross and came back to life after He died, that person is redeemed and will go to heaven one day.

  7. Just before Jesus left to go back to heaven, following His resurrection, He told His followers that He was going to send another God-person to help them, comfort them, empower them, and stay with them. This God-person is referred to as the Holy Spirit.

  8. The Holy Spirit continues to help, comfort, guide, and empower those who believe in Jesus and try to live for God.

  9. Jesus will quickly return to earth one day and, instantly, everyone who has ever placed their trust in Him will be immediately with Him. After some time, He will come to earth again but this time He will stay and rule the earth for one-thousand years. After that, everyone who has placed their trust in Jesus Christ will live in a new heaven for the rest of eternity.

  10. GOD LOVES EVERYONE AND OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO TRY AND LOVE EVERYONE TOO. WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO JUDGE…JUST LOVE. WHEN WE FIND IT IN OURSELVES TO LOVE PEOPLE…PEOPLE WILL FIND IT IN THEMSELVES TO LOVE GOD.
